Christmas is still a magical time for my children, and I hope it always stays that way. We’re lucky to be spending the holiday with family in San Diego–my parents, all five of us siblings, nieces, nephews, friends, and significant others.
I’m enough of a realist to know that days like these don’t come often, so I’m cherishing each and every moment.
Sending you warm wishes for a joyful winter season. ~

I just finished reading and I want to thank you for telling your story with courage and grace! While in Guatemala ( we take students from the Bay Area to build schools and volunteer at Hermano Pedro) I saw a woman
‘skyping’ home every so often with a little bundle on her lap. You story reminds me of her!
Anyway, I also want to know if you’ve seen the MTV show “True Life: I’m looking for my sibling” as it is a touching reunion ( maybe Olivia and Matteo enjoy!).
Finally, you can see my photos from Antigua and around at my website under travel: snowfoto.com. I could picture many if our locations exactly!
Thank you again for your great story,
Betsy
Ugh, forgive typos in above post! I’m a high school teacher on vacation– too lazy to haul out the computer to type!
Happy New Year,
Betsy
Betsy, I’m so happy you read our story and could relate to it. Over the years, I’ve seen many groups at Hermano Pedro–maybe one of them was yours. And yes, I probably look a lot like the woman Skyping home at Conexion, although I lived there with Olivia in pre-Skype days.
I haven’t seen the MTV show, but it sounds fascinating. Thanks for the recommendation.
Fantastic, fantastic photos! You really captured Guatemala in a way I rarely see. Makes me want to get on a plane tomorrow. Wow!
Happy New Year to you, too!
